Yosemite Facelift: Help Clean Up Yosemite For the past 8 years, the Yosemite Climbing Association has held a four day event to help clean up Yosemite. The 8th annual Facelift will start on Tuesday September 20th at the East Auditorium behind the visitor center. The evening programs are a great chance to see slideshows by climbing's greatest and up and coming locals. There will be a ton of food and beer for people who volunteer to clean up the park.



The Facelift will continue until Sunday, September 25th. On the last day there will be a raffle for everyone that volunteered with prizes from a number of great climbing companies.



Tuesday September 20th:
Josh Helling will show Dangerous Season a film about Yosemite Search and Rescue
Lisa Rands presentation -

Wednesday September 21st:
Malcom Daly presentation - Tragedy and Triumph: Defying Gravity Though Post Traumatic Growth
Nicolas Favresse, Sean Villanueva and Ben Ditto will present Vertical Sailing Greenland

Thursday September 22nd:
6th annual Reel Rock Film Tour

Friday September 23rd:
Jim Donini presentation - High and Wild
Mike Libecki presentation - Around the World: In Search of Virgin Vertical Earth

Saturday September 24th 5:00pm - 9:00pm:
Volunteer recognition, raffle and outdoor music by Little Brother. Location to be announced

Sunday September 25th 6:00 pm - Midnight:
Raffle, food and dancing to Little Brother

There is also free camping in Yosemite for that weekend. Check out the Yosemite Climbing Association website for more information. Come to Yosemite, clean up, and enjoy the great climber festival!

  Yosemite in A Day: A Video While giving a slideshow in Yosemite National Park for the 7th Annual Yosemite Facelift last week, Cedar Wright produced a short film about some classic Yosemite climbers including Touchstone Blogger James Lucas.   7th Annual Yosemite Facelift The 7th Annual Yosemite Facelift is kicking off this week. With a series of great events like a showing of the 5th Annual Reel Rock Film Tour and slideshows by Royal Robbins, Cedar Wright, and the famous James Lucas, this year's Facelift will be off the hook!

The Yosemite Climbing Association started this program to help clean-up the park and to bring climbers together in an awesome week of great activities. At the center of the Facelift is picking up the debris that gets left behind by climbers, hikers, and other park users.



You can help out by registering at a check-in station, grabbing a trash bag, and picking up litter.

Participants must register at a check-in station in order to participate. We will provide trash bags, litter sticks and safety vests.
All volunteers receive a raffle ticket for the daily 5:00pm raffle. There are evening programs every night starting September 21st through the 26th at the East Auditorium.

Check-in stations are in the following locations;

* Yosemite Valley: In front of the Visitor Center - 8:00am to 5:00pm, 9/22-9/26
* Crane Flat: South end of Tuolumne Grove parking lot - 8:00am to 5:00pm, 9/24-9/26
* Tuolumne Meadows: Lembert Dome parking lot - 8:00am to 5:00pm, 9/24-9/26

As part of the Facelift, there will be evening entertainment at the east auditorium in Yosemite Village. At each show, beer will be provided by New Belgium Brewery, and wine will be provided by Redwood Creek. A $25 donation is requested for a signature glass that can be refilled at all the shows.   Yosemite Facelift The sixth annual Yosemite Facelift will be happening from September 23-27. The Facelift is a Yosemite Climbing Association sponsored event that helps to clean-up the park after the high-use summer season.

Meet in front of the Visitor Center in Yosemite Village between 8:00 AM and 5 PM from Sept. 23-27 to pick-up trash bags and litter sticks. Then bring the trash back by 5:00 PM for sorting and weighing. Each participant will receive a raffle ticket and prizes will be raffled off every evening.

The Park entrance fee will be waived for Facelift participants.

On Wednesday Evening 7:00-10:00 PM Peter Croft will be giving a slide show at the East Auditorium

On Thursday Evening 7:00-10:00 PM There will be a showing of the Reel Rock Film Tour at the East Auditorium

On Friday Evening 7:00-10:00 PM There will be a Stonemaster's Show followed by a book signing with John Long and Dean Fidelman at the East Auditorium

On Saturday Evening 5:00-9:00 PM There will be music played in front of the Visitor Center with local band the Mother Hips

On Sunday from 8:00 AM- 12:00 AM There will be a Facelift reception with food, drinks, and music by the Johnathon Evans Band at the East Auditorium
