Sierra Rock Climbing
Located near the town of Bridgeport is a huge formation of unbelievable High Sierra granite. With classic routes like The Red Dihedral (5.10b and pictured), Positive Vibrations (5.11a), and Sunspot Dihedral (5.11b), the Incredible Hulk serves as one of the best climbing areas in the Sierras.
Long time Sierra master, Peter Croft, and fellow alpinist and hardman, Conrad Anker, made the first free ascent of Solar Flare, a difficult 5.12+ route on the Incredible Hulk. The route follows the left side of the formation, moving through the obvious golden arete below the ridge line. Below is an excellent video about their ascent.
Great mini-movie. Croft was one of my original climbing heros, so it was great to see him in action on the Incredible Hulk. What a stellar looking line. Thanks for posting.
